In addition to the escrip opportunity above, we are happy to accept any and all of the following:
- LUGGAGE in new condition ... too many times children in foster care move from place to place with their belongings in a large garbage bag. Every child in care deserves to be treated with dignity and we strive to provide real luggage for these children so their belongings can be stored and protected in something that more closely reflects their value as a person.
- TOYS in new condition ... children in foster care don't always have access to toys they can call their own. Your donation can change that and brighten the life of a child forever.
- new SCHOOL SUPPLIES ... Backpacks, lunch boxes and school supplies (paper, pencils, pens etc) are always needed by our children.
- STUFFED ANIMALS / PILLOW PETS ... children in care love to have something to cuddle with ... something to love and to feel loved by in return.
- and of course, money ... we are always trying to meet the needs of all children in foster care in our county. Your donation will allow us to train new advocates, provide continuing support and guidance to our existing advocates and to meet the needs of the children we serve. The National average for the cost of an advocate for a child is $2400.00 per year. Our program provides those advocacy services for about $1700.00 per year (based on our 2010-2011 fiscal year). We are a GREAT INVESTMENT !
